Module 5 – Understand various Roles and Responsibilities within the Workplace for Preventing Infection

• 5.1 Describe the main provision of health and safety legislation and government advice
• 5.2 State the employer’s and employee’s health and safety responsibilities
• 5.3 State the reasons for carrying out risk assessments
• 5.4 Describe the procedures for carrying out a risk assessment
• 5.5 Describe when risk assessments should be carried out
• 5.6 Outline necessary actions to take following a risk assessment
• 5.7 Identify the responsibilities of employees relating to the provision and use of Personal Protective Equipment
• 5.8 Outline the role of personal presentation, hygiene and conduct

Qualification information

On successful completion of all the modules, learners will receive the ‘Level 2 Award in the Prevention and Control of Infection’. This is an OFQUAL Regulated qualification issued by ‘Gatehouse Awards (GA)’. The Gatehouse Awards (GA) Registration Fee of £40.00 and the Skin College Processing (SCP) Fee of £20.00 are payable separately as they are VAT exempt.
