Module 2 – Blood Borne Viruses

• 2.1 What are Blood-Borne Viruses?
• 2.2 Recognise and identify the different Blood-Borne Viruses
• 2.3 Explain how Blood-Borne Viruses are transmitted and spread, and the routes of transmission
• 2.4 Explain how to dispose of contaminated objects and Blood-Borne Viruses
• 2.5 Explain how to prevent the spread of infection of Blood Borne Viruses

Qualification information

On successful completion of all the modules, learners will receive the ‘Level 2 Award in the Prevention and Control of Infection’. This is an OFQUAL Regulated qualification issued by ‘Gatehouse Awards (GA)’.

The Gatehouse Awards (GA) Registration Fee of £40.00 and the Skin College Processing (SCP) Fee of £20.00 are payable separately as they are VAT exempt.

• In the final module you will be required to take an external e-assessment which is set and assessed by Gatehouse Awards
